月亮J. Pak

月亮J. Pak, M.D., Ph.D., a well-respected community-engaged medical physician in the Oakland region with over 35 years of experience, was best known to Oakland University as the founder of our health / medical programs, and further to the Michigan Korean community, as a passionate advocate and leader. For his pioneering leadership from the early 1970s, the School of 健康科学 chose to create and honor Dr. Pak with its first ever Health Achievement Leadership Legacy (HALL) award, as presented in its inaugural 2017 Healthology Symposium. Throughout his enterprising career at Oakland University Dr. Pak served in progressive academic leadership roles as, a former associate professor of biological sciences, 副教务长, and as the founding director of the Center for 健康科学 (now the School for 健康科学). Most remarkably, it was 月亮J. Pak who nearly three decades ago provided us with great vision, leading the university community in early discussions, with the goal of starting our own OU medical school, now successful as OUWB, the Oakland University William Beaumont Medical School.
